RIGGER AND SIGNALER QUALIFICATION

Course Description

This course will cover rigging, wire rope construction, hardware inspection, knot tying and splicing, sling configurations, calculations for sling tension and signaling requirements. Course session will include hands-on rigging with a hydraulic crane using hand signals and voice commands with a 2-way radio. A UBC Rigger and Signaler Qualification will be issued upon successful completion of both written and hands-on tests.

Special Instructions

Tools and/or supplies needed: Hard hat, clear safety glasses, work boots, pen/pencil, notebook and highlighter.

Course Length: 40 hours
Designed for Craft: Carpenters, Concrete Form Builders, Millwrights, and Pile Drivers
Pre-requisites: No pre-requisite required at this time.
Upon Completion: Your UBC Training Verification wallet card will be updated indicating a Rigger and Signaler Qualification.
Certificate Type: This is a qualification issued by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC).
Certificate Expires: Four (4) years from date of course completion. No Grace Period for this Qualification.
Refresher Requirement: Before the Qualification expires, you will need to take the Rigger and Signaler Qualification Refresher class.
