This course will focus on job planning, reading reflected ceiling plans, layout, and fabricating different types of soffits using the new Armstrong Simple Soffit material. Some types of soffits to be built are: Soffits, Curved soffits, J-soffits, L-soffits, Z-soffits, Boxed soffits, Multi-step soffits, Light coves, and installation of flat drywall grid ceiling and simple soffit drywall systems.
Tools and/or supplies needed: Clear safety glasses/goggles, hard hat, work boots, cut resistant gloves, framing square, speed square, hammer, tool belt, tape measure, utility knife, aviation snips, four 6" "C" vise grip clamps, 7" or 8" linesman pliers, 1” spring clamps (4 required) and a blue, yellow or orange chalkbox (no red or black) .
