FLOOR COVERING - HARDWOOD BASICS

Course Description

This is a 32-hour workshop course focusing on basic hardwood installation to produce a successful installation. Discussion begins with wood flooring origins, from forest to the manufacturing process of making wood flooring. Proper tools, safety, job evaluation and preparation, moisture levels, layout and board replacement will be discussed. Nail down installation will be the primary focus and glue down procedures will be covered.

Special Instructions

Tools and/or supplies needed: Clear safety glasses/goggles, work boots, blue chalk line, carpenter's framing square 16”x24”, carpenter's speed square, tape measure, hammer, pry bar, wood chisel, utility knife, pen/pencil/notebook highlighter.
